Pickle Tequila Shot
Salt, lime and tequila, all in one briny little sip.
The Pickle Tequila Shot is blanco tequila shaken with dill pickle brine and fresh lime juice, served in a salt-rimmed shot glass. It folds the salt, the lime and the shot into one sip, with the brine adding a savory dill finish. Think of it as a tiny, briny margarita without the sweetness.

How to make it
- Run a lime wedge around the rims of two shot glasses.
- Dip the rims in salt.
- Shake the tequila, brine and lime juice with ice for about 10 seconds.
- Strain into the shot glasses.
- Serve each with a lime wedge.
Bar tips
- The brine is already salty, so salt only half of each rim and let everyone pick a side.
- Pick a 100% agave blanco; its bright, peppery flavor stands up to the brine.
- Chill the tequila and brine ahead so a short shake gets the shots cold without watering them down.
Make it your own
- Use mezcal for a smoky shot.
- Use spicy brine and a chili-lime rim to turn up the heat.
Drink responsibly. This one is for adults of legal drinking age. Want it without the booze? The zero-proof drinks are just as briny.
