No. 31Vodka & Gin Pickle Cocktails

Pickle Vodka Soda

Crisp, clean and barely trying.

The Pickle Vodka Soda is the simplest drink in the section: vodka and a half ounce of dill pickle brine topped with soda water over ice, finished with a squeeze of lime. It is crisp, dry and lightly salty, with no added sugar, so it drinks like a briny, grown-up seltzer.

Garnish
lime wedge and pickle chip

How to make it

  1. Fill a highball glass with ice.
  2. Add the vodka and pickle brine.
  3. Top with the soda water.
  4. Squeeze in the lime wedge and drop it in.
  5. Garnish with a pickle chip.

Bar tips

  • Pour the soda down a bar spoon to keep as many bubbles as possible.
  • Keep the vodka, brine and soda cold; warm soda loses its fizz the moment it hits the ice.

Make it your own

  • Use lime or cucumber seltzer in place of plain soda water.

Drink responsibly. This one is for adults of legal drinking age. Want it without the booze? The zero-proof drinks are just as briny.
