Dill Pickle Jell-O Shot
Lime gelatin, vodka, dill brine. A wobbly party pickle.
Dill Pickle Jell-O Shots are lime gelatin set with vodka, dill pickle brine and water, then chilled in small cups until firm. They taste sweet-tart and lime-forward with a salty dill finish. One 3-ounce box makes 16 one-ounce shots, which need about 4 hours in the fridge to set.

How to make it
- Set 16 two-ounce plastic shot cups on a sheet pan.
- Whisk the gelatin into the boiling water for 2 minutes, until fully dissolved.
- Stir in the vodka, brine and cold water.
- Pour about 1 ounce into each cup.
- Chill for about 4 hours, until firm.
- Top each with a small pickle chip just before serving.
Bar tips
- Stick to the recipe's total of 1 cup cold liquid; extra vodka or brine keeps the shots from setting.
- Make them up to a day ahead and keep them covered in the fridge.
- Use a measuring cup with a spout to fill the cups fast without drips.
Make it your own
- Swap the vodka for blanco tequila for a margarita-style shot.
- Use lemon gelatin for a brighter, sunnier color and flavor.
Drink responsibly. This one is for adults of legal drinking age. Want it without the booze? The zero-proof drinks are just as briny.
