Garlic Dill Martini
Gin, garlic, dill. A deli counter in a martini glass.
The Garlic Dill Martini is a gin martini made savory with garlic dill pickle brine, dry vermouth and a smashed garlic clove stirred in the mixing glass. It is drier and more aromatic than a Pickletini, with juniper up front and a warm garlic finish, garnished with a cornichon and fresh dill.

How to make it
- Chill a martini glass in the freezer or with ice water.
- Add the gin, vermouth, garlic dill brine and smashed garlic clove to a mixing glass.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir for about 30 seconds.
- Strain into the chilled glass, leaving the garlic clove behind.
- Garnish with the cornichon and pickled garlic on a pick and a sprig of dill.
Bar tips
- Refrigerated deli-style garlic dills usually have the most garlicky brine; shelf-stable jars are milder.
- Keep the raw clove in the mixing glass only while stirring; longer contact turns it harsh.
Make it your own
- Use vodka for a softer garlic dill vodkatini.
Drink responsibly. This one is for adults of legal drinking age. Want it without the booze? The zero-proof drinks are just as briny.
